Ideas / 概念


The protagonist in the painting is my uncle.

In 2015, my uncle was diagnosed with tongue cancer, and his spirits plummeted upon hearing the news. The removal of his tongue and a portion of the oral cavity rendered him unable to eat normally, leading to extreme weight loss.

After several months of chemotherapy, my uncle's condition slightly improved. In September 2016, he happened to come for a visit to my house. Upon seeing him, I suddenly had the idea to paint a portrait of him. After obtaining his consent, I quickly took a photograph. Over two months later, I completed the portrait and personally brought it to his house to show him.

Unfortunately, he passed away in 2017 due to a recurrence of cancer. This portrait became the only one he had during his lifetime. I have always considered this portrait to be the most perfect among my current collection of portrait artworks.



畫中的主角是我的叔叔。

2015年，叔叔被診斷出舌癌，聽到這個消息後他精神一落千丈。因為舌頭和口腔的一部分被切除使他無法正常進食，導致體重極度減輕。

經過幾個月的化療，舅舅的病情略有改善。 2016年9月，他偶然到我家作客。看到他，我突然萌生了給他畫一幅肖像的想法。徵得他的同意後，我趕快拍了一張照片。兩個多月後，我完成了這幅畫，並親自帶到他家給他看。

不幸的是，他於2017年因癌症復發去世。這幅肖像畫成為他生前唯一一幅肖像畫。我一直認為這幅肖像畫是我目前創作的肖像作品中最完美的一幅。
