Ideas / 概念
This piece of work is very impressive to me. The inspiration for this work comes from a dream I had in my childhood. One evening in 2018, I recalled this dream, sparking the idea to create something based on it.
In the dream, I found myself back at my childhood home. In front of the house, there was a winding dirt path surrounded by green trees and grass, a place where I used to play often as a child. As I walked along this path, other houses gradually appeared, and among them, the one that frightened me the most was an old tiled house because a drunkard had died there.
In the dream, this house underwent a transformation. However, its exterior became eerily pale, and a blind woman sat at the entrance soliciting business. Upon seeing her, I felt deep sadness and fear. I hurriedly ran away, but her voice echoed in my ears: "What you see is all false... what I see is more real than yours."
To portray the blind woman from the dream, I sought models whose appearance closely matched hers. However, they all refused to allow me to alter their eyes to simulate blindness (perhaps feeling that it was disrespectful to modify their appearance in such a way). So, I approached my wife to be the model, and currently, this work is part of the collection at the Xinying Cultural Center in Tainan.
這件作品非常令我印象深刻。這件作品的靈感來自於我小時候的一個夢想。 2018年的一個晚上，我想起了這個夢，激發了基於它來創造一些東西的想法。
在夢中，我發現自己回到了兒時的家。屋前有一條蜿蜒的土路，周圍綠樹青草，是我小時候常玩耍的地方。沿著這條路走，逐漸出現了其他的房子，其中最讓我害怕的是一棟舊瓦房，因為那裡死了一個酒鬼。
在夢中，這所房子發生了變化。然而，它的外表卻變得慘白，一名盲人女子坐在門口招攬生意。看到她，我感到深深的悲傷和恐懼。我趕緊跑開，耳邊卻迴響著她的聲音：“你看到的都是假的……我看到的比你的更真實。”
為了描繪夢中的盲人女子，我尋找了與她的外表非常匹配的模特兒。然而，他們都拒絕讓我改變他們的眼睛來模擬失明（也許覺得以這種方式改變他們的外表是不尊重的）。於是，我找我的妻子當模特兒，目前這張作品被台南(Tainan)新營文化中心(Xinying Cultural Center)典藏。
